Your Own Personal Copy

You can win your own personal, signed copy of Murder Spins a Tale. Just leave a comment to this post telling me why you want to read about the adventures of Martha, Denali and Falcor. I will put the ten comments that I like the best in a hat and the winning entry will be chosen at random from those ten. Be sure to include your email address in your comment. You can link proof it by using the format flocknfibermysteries at gmail dot com or you can send it to me at that email address. Just be sure I will know how to link your address from your email to your comment.

So here's your chance to get the very first copy beyond the proof copy that I get from the publishers. What a deal! Tell your friends, relations and co-workers. No fair keeping this opportunity all to yourself.

  1. I would love to have my own copy for several reasons. One, I loved meeting with you and getting to know you better when we met in Portland. We have a lot in common and I was so excited to hear about your book. Two, I love the combination of spinning and a murder mystery all in the same book. Three, I am an avid reader! Four, I have Maremmas and am from Hawaiʻi! Thanks for the chance to win!

  2. I would be thrilled to have a signed special copy because you're an online sister fiber artist and I've been hearing about your writing for some time. Of course, I can't wait until November 10 to see if I win to have a copy, so I've gone ahead and ordered one. Can't wait to read it!!! And congratulations on publication!

  3. Veryl, I'd love to read about Martha, Denali & Falcor! My late Great Pyr, Mattie, was smarter than most people I've known and I'm pretty sure she could have solved a murder all by herself. The dogs in your book are bound to be just as smart! It should be a great read, and I can hardly wait. Congratulations on the publication!

  4. Hi Veryl~ ~ ~I would love to win a copy of your book as I live in a small town too. Doesn't it get just dishy as news gets around and the story always changes as it moves along creating quite a funny ending that often has no relation to the original story. I'm also quite fond of Pyrs. as a friend of mine has had 3 for years. Lovely animals. Though I prefer Afghan Hounds!
Best of luck to you on the release of your book.

  5. Hi, Veryl!

When I heard about your new series, I was so excited. To have a crime solving heroine who spins is an idea whose time has certainly come! And to have the author be a spinner who spins dog hair is especially intriguing to me. Long before I started spinning, I had two wonderful Keeshonds. Ginger and Quiche shed so much that I used to joke that I could knit myself a third pet just from their shed fur. Now that I spin, I wonder what I really could have created with all that gorgeously fluffy stuff that wandered, tumbleweed-style, all over my house.

I'd dearly love to win a copy of your book!

  7. I'd love to win for a couple reasons. First of all, it'd be really neat to sit and spin on my spindle that Glenn made while reading a book that you wrote. Okay, so I'[m not quite sure how that'd work logistically, but I'm sure I'd figure it out. Either that, or I'd just have to knit a silk bookmark to use especially for it - assuming I could wait that long before diving into the book, because, you see, I am a serious book fiend. I read every chance I get and I adore mysteries! I think they've overtaken science fiction as my favourite genre. I still reread books I really like. I've reread a few up to a dozen times. Plus, if you sent your book to me, there would be at least 2 other people here who would read it.

I love the name Denali, even though it makes me giggle. You're in HI, but the name is a mountain in AK - both of which are places we have been stationed.

Even if I don't win, I can hardly wait to read the book. Congrats on being published!!

  8. What could be better than spinning and knitting? Readiing about other people spinning and knitting.

Friends are always amazed to see me with fiber at the bookstore and fiber at the doughnut shop. Pulling out a book about fiber? I want it all!

  9. I'd love to win a copy of your book. What could be better than a fiber mystery! I'm an avid reader and have read all the fiber mysteries I could find, so it's great to have another author writing these.

Thanks so much for contributing to this genre.

  11. What more could a fiber-artist/mystery-lover want? Spinning, mystery and Great Pyrenees to boot. Even if Maddie hadn't lived part of her first year with me, I would want to read of her friends and family. IAC, even if I don't win the book, I'll definitely buy a few copies for friends and family.

  15. I want to read it because it is very different from what I generally get to read, meaning Dora's Adventures, Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Sponge Bob's Pants. This grandma needs something new to read!!

  16. Your cover picture drew me into the tale before I read the story overview. Dogs, cabins, fiber, small town, and a mystery? It sounds like the perfect book and I would love to win a copy. Although I have not been lucky enough to own a Great Pyrenees, they are fabulous big lovable beasts! Congratulations on getting your book published and best of luck! MizT@maine.rr.com

  17. I was captured by your cover picture before I even read the overview of the story. Cabin, small town, dogs, quilts, woodstove, and lots of fiber. And a mystery too? It doesn't get any better than that and I would be honored to win a signed copy. I have always loved Great Pyrenees but have not been blessed to own one...yet! I love the idea of spinning their fur on a hand spindle. Congratulations on getting published and best of luck to you! MizT@Maine.rr.com

  18. Wow! What a great opportunity to include everything I love into one thing. I started spinning dog hair when I got an American Eskimo. I've spent untold hours brushing the dog while reading every one of Agatha Christie's books. With only 2 acres and 5 sheep my Eski still manages to keep the coyotes and bears off our property (he does it by being obnoxious - not threatening). I'd love to win a copy as I told my husband I wouldn't buy any more books (they are my friends and stay with me forever) and I'm not sure he'll get it for me for Christmas - and I really need to see the end of the story!

  19. Hi, just went to Amazon and bought a copy, and will send a request for a signed bookplate for it, and will review it when I've read it. I have some experience reviewing books in the past, so hopefully will do it justice.

  20. I am so happy to hear that you are writing a second book. I own two Great Pyrs and one Pyrador(lab/pyr) and also am a spinner. I was happy to read your first book and all that you wrote about your dogs are so true of the pyrs. I also volunteer for a pyr rescue group out of Indiana and just love to see these beautiful gentle giants get forever homes. Keep writing and keep writing about the pyrs and spinning!
